Our Programs
Emergency, Short or Medium Term Residential Care
The principal support program offered by Wundarra Services is residential care and time limited intensive residential care.
Every child or young person who enters Wundarra’s care is placed in group accommodation and receives intensive support from a team of experienced residential care workers.
Wundarra provides accommodation appropriate to the child or young persons needs in a rural or suburban setting.

Where ongoing premises cannot be provided immediately for an urgent placement, interim accommodation will be provided.
The key objective of our residential care program is to achieve positive client outcomes as planned on a case specific basis, while providing quality out of home care that is suited to the child or young people’s stage of development and cultural diversity.
In line with NSW Government out of home care policies and procedures, the long term outcomes for children and young people through Wundarra’s care can involve restoration to family, transition to supported independent/semi independent living, or placement in a permanent and stable long term foster care situation.
As a result of Wundarra’s provision of care, shorter care goals that have been achieved with previous clients include improved:
- Behaviour Management
- General living skills
- Health assessments
- Educational outcomes
- Socialisation
- Self image and identity
- Self esteem building

Each child and young person referred to our Service is formally assessed by the contracting agency prior to entering Wundarra's care. Before acceptance of placement a joint case conference is arranged to assist with the development of the clients case plan. The case plan outlines the preferred model of care and proposed duration of services required, with detailed responsibilities of each of the two contracting parties. The case plan includes reviews and reporting processes with an identified exit plan. Progress of each child or young person is reported in writing to the Community Services Caseworker, either on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis. Periods for formal case plan reviews are specified in each Individual Client Agreement.
Family Access Visits
Not only does Wundarra Services provide supervised family access visits for children and young people in our care, we are also able (on a contractual basis) to provide this service to children and young people who are not in Wundarra’s residential care program.
